Zhang Chunyang demonstrates a remarkable intuition and tenacity in her observation and description of people’s souls. Her works, in the style of a diary, depicts human nature seen through various influences of time such as the “age of desires”, or others life long passion such as fashion, pleasure-seeking, or again state of being such as naivety and nihility. Adding up the feeling of various states of the body to her portraits: idle, tired or bewitched, the artist reveals the deep nature of soul seen at each period of life.
In our age, we must accept with fortitude the reality in its entirety, and choose to embark upon our own path in life, i.e. the path to decline. Featuring her vision of flower and their vulnerability through her portraits Zhang Chun Yang is able to transform the cruelty of aging trough the use of art.
