Zhou Fengling (Musician, Modernsky Artist)
Zhou Fengling one of the fathers of Chinese rock, was born in 1971 in Beijing. He began learning how to play guitar in 1989. His first band was “Face”, and he later founded the “Five of Hearts” in 1993. In 1994 he accepted musician Dou Wei’s invitation to become guitarist in his band, and play in the “Force of Chinese Rock” concert in a stadium in Kowloon. In 2002 he formed the band “Mr. Zhou”, signed with Modernsky, and released the three albums “Dream Dancer”, “Melody 967”, and “Albemarle Road”. “Beijing 1986” will be re-released in July 2017.
Ou Yang (Musician)
Ou Yang is a famous DJ local to Beijing, and born in 1971. Part of the first generation of Chinese rock, he was among the founders of the two bands “Face” and “Star Chasers”. He was the bassist for “Overload” and He Yong, and also participated in the Kowloon “Force of Chinese Rock” concert.
Deng Ouge (Musician)
Deng Ouge is a Beijinger born in 1974. He was one of the founders for “Face” and “Yi”. He participated in the Kowloon “Force of Chinese Rock” concert as He Yong’s guitarist. Deng worked as a composer and arranger in collaboration with musicians like Faye Wong, Zheng Jun, Xu Wei, and Li Jian. In December 2016 he released “Jian Ting Lan” with his band “Yi”.
Zang Hongfei (Musician)
Zang Hongfei was born in Beijing in 1976. In the late 90s he created the club “Yameng”, thus providing a venue for rock bands to play, and making the club a landmark in the Wudaokou neighborhood in Beijing. A long-time keyboard player, he has worked with Xu Wei, Zheng Jun, Zhang Chu, Xie Tianxiao, the band “Confucius Says”, among countless others. He is currently a member of the band “Dragon God Road”, and is also a popular artist on a variety show.
You Yang (UCCA Deputy Director, Columnist, Curator)
Deputy Director of UCCA. Mr. You Yang has 10 years experience on museum management, writing, curating, cultural event planning, public relations, marketing and fund raising. Complementing his wide range of marketing and management experience, You Yang is also a published author and art critic with more than one hundred journal articles and catalogue essays to his credit.
Colin Siyuan Chinnery (Curator, Artist)
Colin Siyuan Chinnery (Edinburgh, 1971) is an artist and curator based in Beijing. Chinnery graduated in Chinese Language and Civilisation at London University's School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in1997. From 1998 to 2002 he worked at the British Library's International Dunhuang Project, a project dedicated to facilitating international research of the voluminous collection of ancient manuscripts discovered in Dunhuang, setting up the project’s Beijing office at the National Library of China.
In 2002 Chinnery moved to China and began exhibiting widely as an artist in China, Europe and the US. Currently he is developing a sound museum, an online institution consisting of contemporary and historical sounds as well a platform for sound art practitioners.
Chinnery was Director in 2009 and 2010 of ShContemporary Art Fair in Shanghai, and between 2006-2008 he was Deputy Director and Chief Curator of UCCA in Beijing, playing a central role in setting up China’s first major contemporary art institution. Between 2003 and 2006, as Arts Manager for the British Council in Beijing, he initiated major projects in experimental theatre, live art, sound art, and visual arts, bringing a wider public into contact with experimental practice. Chinnery writes regularly about contemporary art and is contributing editor for Frieze magazine.

Zhang Xiaozhou (Music Critic, Curator)
Originally from Guangdong. He is a music critic and curator. Currently he is primarily responsible for publication of BADHEAD label and world/folk music.
