Meat and Milk (De Chair et de Lait)

2014, Bernard Bloch, 104 minutes

From the milk we drink, to the steaks we eat, to the leather we wear, for centuries people have relied on cows. In Bernard Bloch’s revelatory documentary, sixteen scenes from around the world illuminate different cultures’ relationship with the bovine. From the worship of cows in India to the industrialized slaughterhouses of Colorado, Meat and Milk reveals humanity’s unique co-existence with one of its oldest domesticated animals.
