This November, Nordic Documentary Film Festival(NORDOX) will celebrate its 9th anniversary in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou with a selection of 17 films from all five Nordic countries (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland.)
Documentary is like a family photo album of a country. As we look through these photos, we get a glimpse of how life really is over there. This year the focus of the festival is Nordic contemporary life. In A Separation, a daughter films the divorce of her older parents. In Bravehearts, we meet four politically active youth, one of whom witnesses the notorious mass killing on the Norwegian island of Utoya, an incident that changes them all.
In our special Sweden Shorts Collection, four Swedish female directors explore the concept of family through different lenses.
The award-winning documentary Searching For Sugarman should not be missed. In memory of Director Malik Bendjelloul, a still from Searching For Sugarman has been used as the festival poster.
