The Red Brick Contemporary Art Museum, designed by Dong Yugan, is a critique of the schism between architecture and landscape design in Western architecture. In the lecture, Dong will explore the differences between Chinese and Western architecture and landscape design with Atelier FCJZ founder Yung Ho Chang.

Curator/Guest Speaker

Yung Ho Chang is a member of the American Institute of Architects, the chief architect of Atelier FCJZ, and the founder of the Peking University Graduate Center of Architecture. He was formerly a professor and the director of the Department of Architecture at MIT. He is now a professor at the College of Architecture and Urban Planning of Tongji University.

Keynote Speaker

Dong Yugan is an associate professor at the Peking University Graduate Center of Architecture, where he lectures on contemporary architecture and garden design. He is the author of the books Minimalism, Literature Kills Architecture, and From Furniture Construction to the House-Garden Hybrid. He has spent the past decade researching the theory and practice of garden construction.
