About This Program

The ninth day of the ninth month of the Chinese calendar marks the Double Ninth Festival. The Double Ninth Festival is also known as the “Old People's Festival” or the “Respect Your Elders Festival,” but why do we need to show this respect, and why do we thank our ancestors?

In this program, instructor Ji Chao will teach kids about the significance of the Double Ninth Festival and the tradition of filial piety. Kids will taste festival cakes and chrysanthemum tea and learn about how to formally pay their respects to their elders.
