Cao Fei is a Chinese artist based in Beijing. She is known for her multimedia installations and videos, and is acknowledged as one of the key artists of a new generation emerging from mainland China. She mixes social commentary, popular aesthetics, references to surrealism, and documentary conventions in her films and installations. In 2006 she won the Best Young Artist Award at the Chinese Contemporary Art Awards (CCAA).

Video Bureau's newly organized and collected archives include 28 video works by Cao Fei, from 1999-2013, with more information on her works. As the sixth event of the Video Bureau Talk Series, we invited Cao Fei to give a talk and screen her film Hazy and Fog.
