Beijing's Dashilar is one of the city’s remaining historical districts. In this ancient commercial center, one can still find tea houses, theaters, and other traditional shops alongside a large number of modern businesses.
In this series of talks and conversations initiated by Designboom magazine, local and international design and architecture experts will look at Dashilar as a case study to examine how urban planners can both protect an area’s cultural heritage while revitalizing and developing it.
