The interaction of Eastern and Western cultures is a source of aesthetic inspiration for many contemporary artists, both in China and abroad.

In this Beijing Design Week: Design HOP@UCCA lecture, Oscar winner for Best Art Direction Tim Yip will discuss the relationship between eastern and western aesthetics by looking at his work with artists around the world. The lecture will be moderated by Sun Qun, deputy director of the Beijing Design Week organizing committee. Renowned contemporary dancer Yang Liping and founder of New Weekly magazine Sun Mian will also participate.
