About This Program

Sketching is a critical strategy when recording or fleshing out ideas. It is unlike any other medium, recording the designer’s process in the most direct and authentic way.

MADA Pictures:The Collected Sketches of Qingyun Ma, edited by Tongji University Press’s Studio Archipelago, contains Qingyun Ma’s most important sketches from the past 24 years, including unfinished sketches from his early years, drawings, notes, and the complete drafts of all his iconic works.

In this Design HOP@UCCAlecture,Qingyun Ma will recount the stories behind these sketches, providing unique insight into the development of the world-renowned architect.
